Overused and ambiguous--but popular--words and phrases

The purpose of this blog is to expose and hopefully reduce the usage of certain words and phrases that despite their popularity, are ambiguous and no longer carry useful meaning (if indeed they ever did).

To the extent that the word 'jargon' refers to useful terms of art in a particular profession or scientific field of study, good jargon exists.  For example, the word 'proton' very clearly refers to a subatomic particle with a mass of 1.672621777(74)×10−27 kg and an electric charge of 1 elementary charge.

However, we will concern ourselves here with bad jargon.  Stay tuned for posts on 'cloud', 'biomarker', 'domain', and more.
